I have several hats still on the needles and hoping to get them done this weekend, otherwise they will be the beginnings of next years donations.

Info about Steven's Comfy Toes
Steven's Comfy Toes/Cyndy's Tiny Tootsies provides slippers, hats, mittens and scarves to children ages birth to 12 years in the White Pine County area of Nevada. A lot of children come down sick because of the cold. Comfy Toes and Tootsies hopes to help keep the feet warm of children whose families may not have the funds to get slippers to keep the children's feet warm on cold winter days and nights. We will be accepting donations for the children year round and will give them out to the children in December and other times during the winter as needed.
We are now also accepting Hats and Mittens to keep them warm outside along with the slippers for inside. I did this in 2000 for the Head Start Kids and they loved them. I even had some of the kids come up to me and call me the slipper lady because they knew I brought their slippers. They were delivered in white lunch sacks decorated with snowflakes for winter. I then brought my mother (Phyllis Lyman) into the picture and is helping to make more items. I'm hoping to get enough to give to any child that is cold in the winter. We have a lot of cold children here in this area and that makes for a lot of slippers, hats, scarves and mittens. I know that we can't make them all ourselves and so any help would be greatly appreciated. We might be spreading out the donations into another community if we get enough.
The name is in honor of my brother who died from cancer on October 28, 2002. We were able to visit with him the week before he died and he asked me what I was making for the kids this year. It is also in memory of my youngest daughter, Cynthia, who was killed in an automobile accident preparing to come home on November 17, 2001.
In past years I have had charities for Christmas Stockings, Lapghans and slippers for the children. In 2002 I didn't have anything as I was getting over the death of my youngest daughter, Cyndy, just before Christmas the year before (2001). She always helped me package and name things before giving them out and that was the first year without her. I know she would want me to do this. Donations of the following items would be very helpful:
Slippers to fit children ages birth - age 12. These can be knitted, crocheted, fabric, loom, or store-bought.
Yarn or fleece to make the items.
Slippers, hats and mittens to fit children ages birth to age 12 years.
